Cornel Brudașcu was born in 1937 in Tusa and graduated in 1962 from the art school in Cluj now called the University of Art and Design. He stayed in the city: he lives and works in Cluj.

International recognition came late and all at once. In 2014 he was at the 10th Gwangju Biennale, in 2015 in “The World Goes Pop” at Tate Modern, and in 2018 in “Une saison roumaine” at the Centre Pompidou. His work is in the collections of the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, and in 2026 he is in “House of Nisaba” at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm.

Galeria Plan B represents him, alongside painters forty years younger. He is the proof that the road from a studio in Cluj to a museum in London has nothing to do with age.
