Mariana Papară was born in Brăila on 17 April 1955 and graduated in painting from the “Ion Andreescu” Academy in Cluj-Napoca. For more than twenty years she taught painting and drawing at the art high school in Piatra-Neamț and, from 1978, showed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy, according to her YICCA profile.

She works in painting and installation. She settled in Turin, where she started art and education projects through the ARIPA association.
